It’s 2019 and professional eyelash extensions are all the rave, but how much do you really know about them?!
I’m sure you’ve had at least one friend or family member hop on the trend, but what is the real difference between lash extensions and false lashes and how do you know which is right for you?
The main difference is that lash extensions are applied by a professional at a lash salon and are meant to last for at least four weeks, and false lashes are glued on for a single look and are taken off right after.
Eyelash extensions consist of a stylist applying numerous single synthetic lashes, (or other kinds of lashes depending on the salon that you go to), on top of your natural eyelashes to make them look fuller, thicker, and longer. The process takes at least one hour and the lashes will last for about a month.
You will also need to maintain these extensions. You will also have to learn what types of beauty products to discontinue using in order to keep the lashes healthy and go back to the salon every month to keep up with them.
False Eyelash Strips
Eyelash strips can be applied by yourself and you do not need to visit a salon. This is the easier route to go for most people, especially when using your Lash Binder! You can even apply false single lashes if that is the look you are going for, but do not want to get lash extensions.
This process can take anywhere from 30 seconds to a few minutes depending on how practiced you are. These kinds of lashes will last throughout the day but you need to take them off before you go to sleep because they are damaging if you wear them overnight.
Since false lash strips are a temporary solution to attain thicker, fuller lashes, there is no required maintenance! Though if you do want to reuse your lashes, make sure to keep them in a separate container away from moisture.
How do you know which is right for you?
I personally know a few people who have opted for lash extensions because their natural lashes are too thin and they always want to have thicker ones, it is easier for them to have lashes all the time than to put on falsies continuously, and they don’t have to do any maintenance other than going to the salon.
If you have always wished for more voluminous lashes, extensions may be the right choice for you. But if you just love enhancing your natural lashes for events, strips may be the way to go.
