What are false lashes really made of?!

Hey beautiful,

Trying to figure out what kind of false lashes to buy can be confusing and overwhelming. With so many different types available, how are we supposed to know which will work for us?

If you have spent hours of your life trying to research false lashes, look no further! We are here to make it simple and save you precious time!

There are four main types of lashes: Synthetic, Human Hair, Silk, and Mink Lashes.

Synthetic Lashes

Synthetic lashes are made with a plastic fiber called PBT, or Polybutylene Terephthalate. This fiber is a type of polyester that is heated and molded into the desired lash shape. These kinds of lashes tend to be thicker than your normal eyelash and usually feel heavier on your eyes because of the stiffer band. Synthetic lashes are meant for single use only.

These kinds of lashes are made of plastic, therefore, they are not sustainable. They are also uncomfortable and can cause allergic reactions.

Human Hair Lashes

These lashes are made from actual human hair. They have a clear band and are more comfortable than synthetic lashes. They are also slightly thinner than mink lashes.

These are a popular alternative to synthetic lashes because they are cheap and widely available. You can purchase a pair of natural human hair lashes here to go along with your lash binder!

Silk Lashes

Silk lashes are made from silk and are known for being super comfortable. These lashes can be seen as the most natural because since they are made from fabric, they can be the perfect shiny, dark black color and retain a curl very well.

Mink Lashes

Mink lashes are made of the hair from a mink’s tail. These are the most luxurious lashes on the market because they are handcrafted to match the natural lash and create a more feathery look, unlike some of the other kinds of lashes. They are incredibly soft and fine, which makes them, hands down, the most comfort lashes to wear. They are also much easier to apply and remove than the rest.

The problem with mink lashes is that they do come from an animal and there is no way to fully know if the animal was harmed in the process of making these lashes. Lash binder is a cruelty-free brand that does not use mink lashes.

Finding the right lashes for your eye shape and preference takes some time, but I am confident that after reading this post, you will be well equipped to find yours.

Once you find those lashes, you need something to apply them with, so why not make it even easier and purchase a Lash Binder! They are perfect for the first timer or seasoned professional and make applying lashes effortless.

I hope this helped you in your search to find your perfect lash style!
